A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a pivotal role in one of Scotland's fastest growing e-cig companies with over 100 store nationwide. The newly-created Management Accountant role will be fundamental to the success of the Finance Team, and they are particularly interested in candidates who have operated in a similar role in a multi-site retail environment. Good technical knowledge is essential, as are Sage 50 experience and strong Excel skills. This is a multi-tasking role that also calls for someone used to working in a busy, ever-changing environment. Working with pace and the ability to prioritise effectively is paramount, in addition to a personable nature and discretion dealing with sensitive financial information. They must be able to work effectively within a small team of staff, where mutual support is vital to the achievement of the department's objectives. Main responsibilities include: - Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's accounting records and financial systems - Completing management accounts and a monthly financial information pack for both CCHG Ltd and CCHM Ltd for review; - Prepare store P&L accounts to highlight and investigate discrepancies in order to maximise profitability; - Historic and predictive cash flow reporting; - Responsibility for all final monthly General Ledger balances. Ensure there is a rigorous month end close process including the preparation/review of month end balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance and update of control accounts, including (but not limited to) : o Bank reconciliations o Trade creditors and debtors o All payroll control accounts o Fixed asset register o Monthly stock valuation - Assisting the Finance Director in the preparation and maintenance of budgets and forecasts; - Ensuring the company is compliant with VAT and tax regulations and preparation of appropriate VAT returns; - Assisting with year-end audit; - Providing ad hoc analysis as requested by the Finance Director. - Assisting and training junior members of staff in accounting procedures. Skills & Qualifications: This role requires a proactive and analytical person to prepare store and group-level management accounts and analysis. They are looking for an ambitious individual, willing to learn quickly to ensure the smooth running of this fast-paced finance function. In addition, the successful candidate will: - Be a newly-qualified or part-qualified accountant with prior experience in a management accountant role; - Be comfortable with double-entry accruals accounting; - Have strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail; - Have good communication skills - frequent interaction with the Directors and external stakeholders is involved with the role; - Have advanced knowledge of Excel and Sage 50 (essential) This role is a full time position for 40 hours per week.
