LOCATION: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

JOB TITLE: Warehouse Operatives-Full time, Perm! A job at Chiltern is not just for Christmas! These are not seasonal positions.

SALARY & BENEFITS: Permanent roles starting from £8.50/hr depending on experience and shift patterns

WORKING HOURS: Full time:

Day Shift: Monday to Friday, weekly alternating, 6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm

Night Shift: Sunday to Thursday - 8:00pm - 5:30am

THE COMPANY AND ROLE: An exciting opportunity has arisen with my client, a growing temperature controlled logistics organisation. Their main depot in Peterborough is immediately filling various roles and we encourage those who may be qualified to apply. Working within the Supply Chain Centre based in Peterborough there is an opportunity to join their team in a FULL-TIME PERMANENT role immediately:

WAREHOUSE OPERATIVES - DAYS & NIGHTS

The purpose of the role is to ensure all picking and goods in and out activities are completed in the require time and in line with procedures.

Key Responsibilities to include:-

  • Unloading vehicles and receiving goods in and out
  • Loading on company transport and 3 rd party vehicles
  • Accurate preparation and picking of ring orders
  • Picking orders
  • Working with computerised and RF warehouse management systems
  • Ensure stock is rotated correctly
  • General housekeeping duties
  • Carrying out all duties whilst adhering to Health and Safety requirements


Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the roles:-

  • Previous distribution centre, cold store or warehouse operative experience essential (12 months preferred)
  • Reach truck forklift licence preferred but not essential as training will be provided
  • PPT (Pallet truck) licence or in-house trained essential
  • Happy to work in a temperature of -25 degrees Celsius (clothing will be provided)
  • Good standard of education & fluency in English"
  • Previous experience of using RF scanning equipment preferred but not essential as training will be provided
  • Must be a team player and able to work to accurately to tight procedures and deadlines
  • Must be numerate and observant with regard to attention to detail
