Meridian Health Services is currently seeking a full time Residential Medical Technician for our Residential Addictions and Recovery Center located in Richmond, Indiana. This position will work 7a to7:30p.This is a great opportunity to make an impact in the lives of others.Compensation based on education and experience starting at $10.71 per hour. Key Responsibilities: Responds to requests from patients concerning the effectiveness of medications, side-effects, special precautions or problems with medication and consults with medical staff as appropriate to provide patients direction on changes/modifications to the prescribed medications regimen;Phone in prescription orders to pharmacies as directed by medical staff;Review lab and test results, reporting concerns and abnormal results to medical staff;Administer injectable medications as ordered by medical staff;Collect, assess and interpret patient/family data systematically, which includes:Collect pertinent information from patient/family;Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team;Use assessment skills in observation, active listening, auscultation, palpitation, percussion in admission and ongoing assessment reflective of the patient's status;Recognize and address alterations in patient physiological and psychological status;Recognize and report abnormal findings of diagnostic tests and notifies appropriate level of care.Obtain medical histories and complete medical screenings as directed by medical staff including BP, WS, Wt, COWS;Provide as needed educational groups, in-service training and one-on-one teaching to patients and employees on health-related issues;Supervise self-administration of medications;Assist with maintenance of employee health records, providing annual PPD and Hepatitis B vaccine;Draw laboratory testing and drug screens as directed by medical staff;Collaborates and communicates effectively with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary team in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care and outcomes;Exercises authority, requiring the use of independent judgement.Complete required clinical documents for review/approval by a member of the medical staff;Complete other documentation to ensure accurate and timely information for client and third-party billing;Assist nurse manager in evaluating medical team members, as requested. We are seeking candidates with the following qualities: Required: Must be a paramedic with active, unencumbered certification/licensure to practice in the State of Indiana and as a Nationally Registered Paramedic.Preferred: Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in psychiatric care, emergency room or addiction treatment setting.
